Reduction of outstanding debt from 77,442.22 UAH to 9,555 UAH

On November 7, 2021, the client received a call from unknown individuals who introduced themselves as Monobank employees. During the conversation, they asked her to provide a code from an SMS message. Unaware of the consequences of her actions and having been misled, the client effectively confirmed the conclusion of a loan agreement for the amount of UAH 3,000.

For a long time, the client did not know about the existence of credit obligations until she received a court ruling on the opening of proceedings under the claim of LLC “Financial Company “Aragon” for debt recovery.

The client’s problem

The main problem was that the claimant requested to recover UAH 77,442.22 from the client under an agreement that was actually concluded after a telephone conversation with unknown individuals.

The client did not realize that providing an SMS code could lead to confirmation of a credit agreement and for a long time did not know about the existence of credit obligations.

Because of this, there was a risk of recovering a significant amount of debt from the client, which substantially exceeded the initial loan amount.

As a result of the case review, the court ordered the recovery from the client in favor of LLC “Financial Company “Aragon” of UAH 3,000 of debt under the principal amount of the loan and UAH 6,555 of interest debt.

The total amount recovered was UAH 9,555 under loan agreement No. 9382877 dated November 7, 2021.

In addition, the court recovered UAH 2,008.65 in court costs incurred by the client from LLC “Financial Company “Aragon” in her favor.

The rest of the decision of the Yampil District Court of Vinnytsia Region dated August 15, 2025, was left unchanged, and its effect in the non-canceled part was restored.
